The king of battle royale games has finally arrived on the mobile platform! Tencent Games has just released PUBG Mobile on Android and iOS devices and fans of the game are excited! If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, this is your chance to find out how this single title was able to create a worldwide phenomenon that changed competitive play forever.
The game revolves around a battle arena where a hundred players will have to fight to the death until there is only one left. Participants are all dumped on an island with nothing but t-shirts on their backs. They will have to parachute and climb to find weapons, armor and other supplies to help them survive.
Never before has such a new idea been executed so well that the game became an instant hit. Be amazed by the stunning graphics and realistic combat system. Well, you'd better not gape for too long or someone could kill you. Be sure to check out our PUBG Mobile strategy guide to ensure your survival!
1. Auto Run makes it easy to move
One of the main challenges in creating a mobile battle royale game is the limitations on controls. Since all the buttons are on the screen, you are stuck with the use of your thumbs. You will need both thumbs free in the event of a fight as you will need to aim with one finger and shoot with another. So how are you going to move? The answer is autorun. When you use the virtual joystick, you will see a small green icon. Drag towards it to activate auto run.
This is also useful outside of combat as you will be able to look around as you run. Just tap and drag the eye icon under the map to make your character look. The doors will also open automatically when you run into them automatically. Keep in mind, however, that if the door doesn't open, it means someone else has closed it. This means that you could be ambushed.
2. Don't worry about the initial looting
When you hit the ground, you will have nothing with you. Your job is to run like crazy and try to pass any loot if you can. Don't worry about picking them up as the game will automatically plunder your first weapons, drinks, pain relievers, and medical kits for you. This helps you survive the initial rush where everyone tries to kill each other with frying pans. After that, you will still be able to collect new weapons, but you will have to do it manually. It makes sense because you don't want to accidentally drop a weapon you like while running with another loot.
3. Keep moving
When you get hit, you can't afford to stop even for a second. Make sure you move from side to side to make it difficult for your opponent to aim correctly. The moving platform isn't really easy to aim, so even the added side pass could make a huge difference in your opponent's ability to hit you. Of course, it would be difficult for you to snap while doing this too. Make sure you practice shooting while moving as much as possible. It may take a while, but when you turn it down, you'll rack up kills in no time.
4. Aim for the head
There will be times when you will spot an enemy who has no idea where you are. You will have a small window of opportunity to take them out before they can return fire or escape. This is where precision aiming comes in handy. If you have a weapon equipped with a scope, you can tap the scope button on the far right side of the screen. This will allow you to zoom in on your opponent. Try to aim for the head to deal the most damage. Your first shot is critical, so don't reveal your position until you're sure of your aim.
5. Change the firing mode of your weapon
Some weapons have multiple fire modes. You will see a Chinese character to the left of your weapon that allows you to switch between single fire and burst. You want to use single fire if you need stability and accuracy. Switch to this when shooting medium to long range. Burst fire allows you to deal damage quickly but sacrifices stability as your weapon retracts a lot. This is useful when shooting at closer opponents as you want to be able to hit them as much as possible before they can kill you.
6. Check the map
The map is useful for many things. One of its most basic uses is for you to track your movement as the safe zone narrows. Aside from that, however, you'll also be able to see where nearby enemies fire their weapons. You may not be able to pinpoint their location, but even a rough estimate can go a long way when it comes to avoiding danger. If you want, you could even venture to where the action is and see if you can snipe some injured players while they are busy fighting each other. Just be careful not to enter the line of fire.
7. More visual cues
The game has a few more visual cues that can help you win if you know how to pay attention. First of all, you can mark any location on the map. This way you will get the estimated distance of your marker as you move around the map. This is useful for telling your teammates where you want to meet after the looting. You can also use it on its own to plan your moves without having to repeatedly open the map.
Another help that the game gives you is that it highlights the elements that can be useful to you. This will help minimize wasted time running towards objects you don't really need. The ammo and weapon accessories you can use will be highlighted, so you will know if it makes sense to run towards them or not.
